Competition Entry Forms
Over the last year we have been trying to find ways to make competition entry easier, however there has been a bit of confusion over the requirements for open meet entries. The club wishes to outline its policy on competition entry and event subsidy.

Entry to open meets
This will now be by a generic open meet entry form (see attached) and a cheque. Forms not returned to Karen by the deadline and without a cheque will not be entered, so please ask any questions before the deadlines. A cheque for the appropriate amount payable to "WASM" will be included with the entry forms. Any no swims following the entry deadline will incur the cost for the full amount of the event.

Avalon Open Meets
These are our home club open meets and our key fundraising events of the year and should be supported well. Parental help for each session secures free entry for swimmers. No help results in payment of entry fees in full. Help must be offered for the entire half day session in which the child is swimming.

Other Target Open Meets/County Championships
The club is very kind in subsidising open meets and championship events by 50% (many club programmes do not do this). Our programme is tailored to peak with specific meets through the year. On application to these events a generic open meet entry form should be used and returned to Karen by the deadline with a cheque for the appropriate amount. Any no swims following the entry deadline will incur the cost for the full amount of the event.

FAQ
Why do we have to enter this competition? This event is specifically targeted at increasing opportunities for those who have not yet qualified for the Somerset County Championships and hence an ideal opportunity for our swimmers. Most of the swimmers in our club are targeting qualification for the County Championships and hence we should all be looking to enter this competition.

Do I need to enter this meet? If you are a SSS/T2T squad member and are 9 before the 4th October you should be entering this event. If you have any queries please donÕt hesitate to contact Karen to ask any questions. (07500028404 / kpinniger@somerset.gov.uk)

IÕm not sure what to enter? Check the event list and note what events you would like to swim. If you have already qualified for the counties in one event, you will not be able to swim this specific event e.g. if you have qualified for the 50 Fc, you will not be able to swim the 50 fc, but will be able to swim any other event. If you have any queries please ask Karen, who will also check your times in the data base upon entry.

What do I do if I suddenly canÕt swim at the event? If you have entered a meet, then you will be charged the full amount for the event. You will also need to let Karen know that you cannot attend.

Team Kit
When competiting, it is really important that you wear a club hat and club kit, so that we can identify you. Team t-shirts and hoodies can be purchased from the National Schoolwear Centre in Wells. Team Hats can be puchased from Lyn Tansley or Karen Pinniger at £4.
